ITINERARY

Day One, Arrival in Sydney, Australia: On arrival in Sydney, you are met by our New Zealand Adventure Co. representative and privately driven to your stunning, beautifully located accommodation.

Day Two in Sydney (Breakfast included today)Today
is yours to spend at leisure.  Ask us about our favourite aspects of exciting Sydney - there are so many activities, attractions and interesting locations to explore and we'll tailor our recommendations to your specific interests.
Day Three in Sydney (Breakfast and lunch included today): Accompanied by your expert local guide, venture in to the magnificent Blue Mountains World Heritage Area for a full day of exploring this wonderful wilderness region.  Wildlife sightings may include kangaroos, iguana lizards and the myriad of colorful native birdlife.

Day Four in Sydney / Ayers Rock (Breakfast included today): Following breakfast this morning you will be met by your driver and transferred to the airport for your flight in deep in to the Outback for an unforgettable encounter with Ayers Rock.  On arrival, you'll be met and privately transferred to your comfortable accommodation.

Day Five in Ayers Rock (Breakfast included today): This morning you will be collected for your Aboriginal guided morning tour of Uluru and the Liru Walk.  On the famous Liru Walk you will retrace the path of the Liru Ancestors through the bushland near Uluru. Later, along the Mala Walk visit the many painted caves of the Mala people, and learn how they lived and prepared for ceremonies at the base of Uluru.

Day Six in Ayers Rock / Cairns (Breakfast included today)This morning you will be collected from your accommodation for your private transfer to the Ayers Rock airport.  From Ayers Rock, you'll travel to Tropical North Queensland and the city of Cairns where, upon arrival, you will be driven to your well-appointed accommodation.

Day Seven in Cairns (Breakfast and lunch included today): Along with your guide and your small group, you will commence your full day 4WD trip in to the magnificent Daintree National Rainforest.  This magical day in the forest includes the beautiful Alexandra Range, the Jindalba boardwalk, Thornton Beach and a myriad of local flora and fauna - many marvellously unique species endemic to Australia.

Day Eight in Cairns (Breakfast and lunch included today)This morning you will be collected from your accommodation for your full day cruise out to beautiful Michaelmas Cay on the Great Barrier Reef.  This magical trip includes four hours at the reef, morning tea on the sail out, lunch, afternoon tea, informative ecological presentations by qualified Marine Biologists and snorkelling.

Day Nine in Cairns (Breakfast included today): Today is yours to delight in this stunning tropical location at leisure. 

Day Ten in Cairns / Melbourne (Breakfast included today): This morning you will be transferred to the Cairns Domestic Airport for your flight to wonderful Melbourne.  On arrival, you will collect your late model, automatic rental vehicle and make your way to your superb accommodation.

Day Eleven in Melbourne / Port Fairy (Breakfast included today): This morning you will depart Melbourne for the trip westward along the breathtakingly beautiful coastline of south-eastern Victoria, Australia. Travel one of the world's most scenic roads through an extended area that includes the world-famous Twelve Apostles, the Otways rainforest, Bells Beach on the Surf Coast, and the Great Ocean Road itself.  On arrival in the charming little seaside village of Port Fairy, you'll be welcomed to your delightful little hotel.

Day Twelve in Port Fairy / Halls Gap (Breakfast included today): This morning you will depart Port Fairy and take the drive inland to the interesting and scenic Grampians region, the tiny settlement of Halls Gap and your lovely accommodation.

Day Thirteen in Grampians National Park (Breakfast and lunch included today): This morning, you will depart your accommodation for one of the most rewarding day hikes in the Park.  A gourmet picnic lunch is included in your independent day trip.  Note; this hike does require above average fitness, hence, if you require something a little more laid back, just let us know.

Day Fourteen in Halls Gap / Melbourne (Breakfast included today): Today you will depart the Grampians and travel in an easterly direction, through the richly historic city of Ballarat, to Melbourne.  Upon arrival, your rental vehicle will be dropped off and you will check in to your beautifully appointed accommodation.

Day Fifteen in Melbourne (Breakfast and lunch included today)This morning your guide will meet you at your hotel for commencement of your full day Yarra Valley food and wine journey.  This wonderful tour offers you a unique food and wine experience, with many wineries specializing in the foods of the region at the cellar door and adjacent eateries.

Day Sixteen in Melbourne (Breakfast and dinner included today): Until this evening, today is yours to spend at leisure exploring exciting Melbourne.  Early this evening you will be met at your accommodation and privately transferred to this evening's venue for your exclusive New Zealand Adventure Co. 'Farewell to Australia' dinner at one of the city's premier establishment's. 

Day Seventeen in Melbourne, Australia / Queenstown, New Zealand (Breakfast included today):  Today you will be met at your accommodation and privately transferred to the Melbourne International Airport.  From Melbourne you will farewell Australia and board your relatively short flight to the stunning Southern Lakes District of southern New Zealand and the gorgeous resort of Queenstown.  On arrival in Queenstown, you will once again, be met by our New Zealand Adventure Co. representative and privately driven to your stunning, lakeview accommodation.

Day Eighteen in Queenstown (Breakfast included today): This morning you will receive your late model, automatic rental vehicle and spend the day acquainting yourselves with this exciting and scenic area prior to the ensuing days of exploration and adventure.

Day Nineteen in Queenstown (Breakfast and lunch included today)This morning you will travel to Glenorchy, at the head of Lake Wakatipu for your fantastic small group backcountry jetboat trip with half day independent Routeburn Track walk.  Lunch today is included at a wonderful little eatery recognized as a noteworthy mention by the acclaimed Saveur magazine.

Day Twenty in Queenstown (Breakfast, lunch and all tastings included today): Following a leisurely morning in Queenstown, accompanied by your expert guide, you will experience the Central Otago's wonderful food and wine offering during this afternoon trip around some of the region's top wineries.

Day Twenty One in Queenstown / Franz Josef (Breakfast included today): Today you will depart the Southern Lakes District and travel to the West Coast and the stunning Glacier Region.  On arrival, you will check in to your charming Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

Day Twenty Two in Franz Josef (Breakfast included today): This morning you will take the short drive in to Franz Josef Village from where you will commence your half day guided Glacier Hike on magnificent Franz Josef Glacier.  The afternoon is yours to explore this beautiful area with its myriad of excellent hiking opportunities and majestic West Coast scenery.

Day Twenty Three in Franz Josef / Karamea (Breakfast included today): This morning you will begin the trip up the amazing West Coast to the northern-most town on the Coast Road, the totally unique little settlement of Karamea.  On arrival in this interesting and totally unique location, you will make your way to your delightful accommodation.

Day Twenty Four in Karamea (Breakfast and lunch included today): This morning you will travel to the Oparara Caves in the magnificent Oparara river basin for your remarkable guided caving experience.  Following this wonderful trip, you will take your picnic lunch and commence your afternoon hike through original old growth rain forest featuring New Zealand natives, the kahikatea and rimu trees.  You'll also encounter many of New Zealand's native birds - this is truly an immensely rewarding day in one of New Zealand's most untouched outdoor environments.

Day Twenty Five in Karamea / Nelson (Breakfast included today): From Karamea this morning, you will cut across the northern South Island to the gorgeous Nelson region and your beautiful accommodation; located on Monaco Peninsula just minutes from Nelson city.

Day Twenty Six in Nelson (Breakfast and lunch included today):  This morning you will drive to the beautiful Golden Bays area and the small beach settlement Kaiteriteri. From this special little area of New Zealand, you will commence your incredible full day of sea kayaking and hiking in the South Island’s awe-inspiring Abel Tasman National Park.

Day Twenty Seven in Nelson (Breakfast included today): Today is yours to spend at leisure to explore this spectacular location in the freedom of your rental vehicle. 

Day Twenty Eight in Nelson /Hapuku Lodge (Breakfast and dinner included today): Following a wonderful few days at the top of the South Island, you will commence your drive south via the East Coast Road that travels between the Kaikoura Mountain Range on one side and the South Pacific Ocean on the other - this is one of the most picturesque drives in New Zealand and you'll definitely want to have the camera handy.  Just north of Kaikoura, you will find celebrated Hapuku Lodge whereupon arrival you will be shown to your beautiful room prior to this evening's dinner at the Lodge.

Day Twenty Nine in Hapuku Lodge / Akaroa (Breakfast included today): From the Lodge, you will continue down the East Coast and along the scenic Banks Peninsula to the delightful little French settled town of Akaroa and your wonderful boutique accommodation.

Day Thirty in Akaroa (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included today): This morning, you will be collected by our guide, the local farmer, for your trip up to the Banks Peninsula hill-country sheep farm where you will learn about the history of the farm, watch farm dogs in action and try your hand at sheep shearing. After morning tea with the farmer, you’ll head into Akaroa for a delectable lunch followed by your small vessel Akaroa Harbor cruise for sightings of such creatures as seabirds, the very cute little New Zealand native, the Hectors dolphin and seals.  After some time at your accommodation to refresh, you will enjoy your New Zealand Adventure Co. farewell dinner at one of our absolute favourite Akaroa eatery's.  This is a really special day and a great finish to your Great Discovery.

Day Thirty One, Departure from Akaroa, New Zealand (Breakfast included today): Today you will take the short, scenic drive back along the Peninsula to Christchurch Airport.  From Christchurch, you will farewell New Zealand and board your flight home.
